The Community Service Interclub Council (CS-ICC) was formed in January 2015 to foster and coordinate community service activities for all of the Princeton University Eating Clubs. The founding Co-Chairs were Kate Gardner ’16 (Tower Club) and Kevin Larkin ’16 (Colonial Club).
Princeton TruckFest is the flagship fundraiser of CS-ICC. The first TruckFest was held in April 2014 and was the first time the clubs worked together to host an interclub community service event. TruckFest Co-founders Justin Ziegler ’16 (Cap and Gown), Austin Sanders ’14 (Cannon), and Kathleen Cordrey ‘16 (Ivy) paved the way for an annual event that has donated over $20,000 each year to local causes, Meals on Wheels and Send Hunger Packing.
TruckFest has received support from the Princeton Prospect Foundation, the University’s Pace Center for Civic Engagement, the Princeton University Office of Community and Regional Affairs, and local area sponsors. Princeton University and the town of Princeton have also helped with services needed to close Prospect Street and host an event that draws 5,000 people from the campus and community. The CS-ICC has continued to expand its fundraising efforts with Princetoween in the fall and a Community Partners program that pairs each eating club with a local service organization for sustained support.
