The Interclub Council (ICC) is excited to report, after a successful virtual admissions process, general statistics from Street Week 2021.
This year’s unprecedented virtual Street Week offered a plethora of new challenges for sophomores and club members alike. Sophomores engaged with members on a variety of platforms, including Zoom and Glimpse, and learnt more about the clubs in new and unique ways.
Despite the challenges of a virtual Street Week, the club system saw great trends in placement. This year, 87% of sophomores were placed in their 1st or 2nd choice club. This represents a slight decrease from last year’s 93%, but is consistent with the percentages achieved in other years.
In 2021, a total of 814 students participated in Street Week 2021. This represented 70% of the sophomore class.
For the third year in a row, 100% of sophomore students who participated were placed in a club.
Additionally, 76% of sophomores participated in multi-club bicker, a 14-percentage-point increase on last year’s number.
Of the sophomores who bickered a selective club this year, 72% were admitted, the same as last year.
Finally, the Group Sign-In feature continued to see successful implementation in its second year: there were a total of 17 groups created, with 57 students opting to sign in as part of a group.
The ICC is excited by the success of Street Week 2021, and looks forward to continuing to welcome the Class of 2023 to the Street!
